At Madrid Pride, where some two million either participated or watched the Gay Pride parade one year (hey, they have marriage in Spain now, so it makes sense), a select few gentlemen, namely the ones who appear in this amazingly hot flick, have more than one reason to be proud. There’s no story, but there sure are a lot of scenes. Part 1 alone has eight scenes and a running time just over four hours. Dated flashbacks then show us sexual encounters between various groups of these models. The use of dates is odd; since there’s no story, what difference does it make when the sex happened? 

As he has done in his last several films, Bjorn films real-life couples having sex without condoms. First among them are Daniel Marvin and Pedro Andreas, who meet in a barn dressed in full leather to fuck in a makeshift sling. In an abrupt changeover, the camera transports us to a hillside meadow where shepherds Francesco D'Macho and Armando Del Toro (surrounded by baaahing ewes and rams) are celebrating the birth of a new lamb. They later retreat to an indoor tub to wash off the smell of raw lanolin before moving to a decidedly un-shepherdlike bedroom to fuck. There’s music by three composers — Francois Girard, Matt Locke and Jose Cromo — and it always complements the action without intruding. The sex is magical realism with porn as the vehicle. In fact, “porn” is such an inadequate word to use here. The models are so attentive to each other, combining aggressiveness with sensuality and tenderness with sexual hunger. Pride is noteworthy for another reason: director Bjorn generally steers clear of two-man scenes, preferring to outnumber them with threesomes, four-ways and larger orgies. But Pride's 15 scenes include six two-man scenes. And so much seed is spilled that the cumshots in the DVD extras take another half-hour.
